CHANGE OF MIND AT JUSTICE DEPARTMENT DOES NOT AFFECT BABY BELLS TELEPHONE MANUFACTURING PLANS

The change of mind at Justice does not affect its proposals that the Baby Bells should be permitted to manufacture telephone equipment and that they should be allowed to offer unregulated computer services: it doesn’t seem to affect entry into international telecommunications – ventures such as those between Nynex and Pacific Telesis with Cable & Wireless Plc, but the status of these is not quite clear.
