CGI Informatique SA of Paris has added functionality in version 2.0 of its manufacturing management and purchasing software, Prodstar 2-MFG and Prodstar 2-POP. The principal evolutions in Prodstar 2-MFG are dynamic site management, just-in-time production management, and blanket Manufacturing Requirements Planning calculation, which accounts for stock and reprovisioning based on orders and sales estimations. Version 2 of Prodstar 2-POP includes a module for managing calls for proposals and an open orders management module, which enables the user to manage the manufacture of a series of items over a predetermined period. CGI says the new versions are available immediately. Prodstar is available in 10 languages and runs on a variety of machines, including IBM Corp AS/400s, Hewlett-Packard Co HP 3000s and Digital Equipment Corp VAXes.
