CGI will replace the EPA’s current system with its Momentum software and take over hosting and management duties. The deal was awarded under the government’s Line of Business initiative, which allows department to seek out common IT infrastructures across agencies and bid their work out to other government agencies or private contractors.
The program is intended to reduce duplicative systems and relieve government bodies from managing non-core functions.
