Reckoning that there’s a pool of programmers capable of helping to plug Japan’s yawning software gap, Century Research Centre Corp has teamed with C Itoh & Co and China International Trust & Investment Corp to establish Century Intelligence Software Co in Peking to write software for the Japanese market: the Japanese partners – Century with 39%, Itoh with 12% – will train 40 Chinese engineers in Japan; the Chinese government invest company holds the remaining 49% of the venture, which is capitalised at $150,000, and looks for sales of $1.5m in the first year of development, starting April 1992.
