CENTURY COMMUNICATIONS TO ACQUIRE ALL ASSETS OF ROANOKE VALLEY CELLULAR TELEPHONE

Century Communications Corp of New Canaan, Connecticut has agreed to acquire all assets of Roanoke Valley Cellular Telephone Co, Roanoke Valley CelTelCo Inc, RVC Services Inc and RVC Leasing Inc from Billy Parrott for about $12m and assumption of some $2.5m in liabilities: the Parrott companies built, own, and operate the cellular mobile telephone system in the Roanoke, Virginia metropolitan area; Century is a cable television firm and sees great similarities at the operational level between the cable and and the cellular phone businesses.
