One of Spain’s top software companies, Centro de Sabadell SA, is to pioneer the export of Spanish information technology to the rest of Europe after a distribution contract signed with Italian services company Saier SpA. Centro will supply Saier with 3,000 copies of its Cima and Nova business management and Axis fourth generation language packages, translated and adapted to the needs of Italian companies, for distribution by Saier to the small and medium companies that make up its own clients. The value of the agreement is put at around $1.7m. Centro is already negotiating to sign similar agreements in other EC countries, starting with Portugal. Cima, Nova and Axis are all supported by Olimpo, a software environment developed at Centro’s research and develop-ment department and in which the company has invested $3.4m this year. Olimpo is transportable to different computers and operating systems and integrates an optimised database and data security.
