Barcelona-based software and services company Centrisa, 100% owned by the Iberdrola and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Group, is looking to increase its business in the banking and insurance sectors, which currently account for 13% of the company’s turnover. To this end, Fernando Lopez Blanco, who has 18 years’ experience in the financial sector, including many years at Eria and Eritel SA, has been drafted to head the company’s Madrid office. Blanco announced that Centrisa was planning to acquire companies that offered financial and document management services and that certain strategic alliances were being negotiated, but said it was too early to disclose any names. Centrisa reported a small profit on turnover of $21m for 1994, 12% down on the previous year. Besides its financial business, 46% of its turnover came from public services, 20% from public administration and 18% came from industry.
