Centralis Ltd, a small UK software house, has released CLAM (Connection Limited Access Management) a GUI package designed to allow PCs to act as thin clients in a distributed environment. The software allows users to access MS Terminal Server or Winframe sessions via a cut-down simplified interface that boots instead of Windows. Centralis says the software allows server-held applications to be accessed only by authorized users, and provides the cost benefits of thin clients as desktops can be updated centrally. CLAM is available now and costs $16 per head.
