Central Desktop updates SaaS social technology platform

Adds new user interface and online file viewing enhancement

Central Desktop has unveiled a new version of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) social technology platform, with a redesigned user interface and new features including an online file viewing enhancement.

According to the company, the Central Desktop 2.0 includes features such as the new layout that includes a workspace creation wizard, workspace templating, new drop down menus, customisable tabs and configurable settings; and expanded file preview feature that supports more than 200 different file types including Microsoft Office files, PDFs, JPEGs, TIFs, CAD files and Adobe Photoshop files. All files are also accompanied by a thumbnail image for an immediate preview and the ability to comment on files without having to download them to the desktop.

The new version also includes features improved one-click wiki page creation and page navigation enhancements; PDF creator; and forum and blog feature that brings community and internal communication tools under one umbrella.

In addition, the new version also includes page favourites and uses avatars throughout the platform to identify users and accompany their recent activity.
