Cendant Corp – the direct marketing company with ambitions to be a big player in software and multimedia, looks to be heading for a boardroom showdown, according to Business Week. The company’s 28-member board, has only met once since the scandal over the company’s accounting irregularities broke earlier this year (CI No 3,452). It is reported to be likely to split between supporters of the company’s CEO Henry Silverman, and supporters of the chairman, Walter Forbes – who was reported to have held discussions with the company recently over the possibility of his departure.
