San Mateo, California-based Cemaphore develops a Microsoft Exchange-based message management solution called MailShadow. The software effectively centralizes distributed Exchange environments allowing for better remote administration and network performance tuning.

Unique to Cemaphore’s approach is its use of a local transaction cache.

The series B round of funding was led by vSpring Capital. vSpring’s managing director also joins Semaphore’s board as well.

In total the company has raised $19.4m since its inception in April 2002.
