Seven cellular phone companies have asked Japan’s Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications to allow them to cut monthly circuit rates by the equivalent of $8 in response to Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp’s October rate cut, leaving their rates at $8 to $16 below NTT rates.
