Concord, Massachusetts-based Celerity Solutions Inc, yet another fast growing supply chain management company, has just launched its Supply Chain Planner software for Windows NT. SCP, a message- based product which uses an algorithm patented by the 16 year-old company, is claimed to be one of the first products to integrate supply and transportation planning with available to promise and warehouse flow-through processes. It is a real-time, event- driven planning tool that generates a supply plan based on a model of the client’s supply chain. It is offered either as a standalone package or as part of Celerity’s Continuum suite of supply chain products. Celerity started out as a multimedia software developer, but sold off the last of its multimedia assets last year in order to concentrate on supply chain management. Since then, the company has acquired two supply chain management firms: Somerset Automation Inc and Client Server Technologies Inc. Revenues for fiscal 1998 were up 90% from the previous year.
