Celeno Communications, a provider of semiconductors for multimedia Wi-Fi home networking applications, and SerComm, a manufacturer of broadband and wireless networking equipment, have announced the availability of the IP902CL, a wireless HD IPTV networking system.

Powered by Celeno’s CL1300 Wi-Fi silicon, the IP902CL Access Point is claimed to enable original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and service providers to deliver carrier-grade multi-client HD IPTV home networking with low cost structure.

Celeno also said that this system enables connectivity of concurrent HD and SD IPTV streams from ethernet-equipped devices, such as broadband gateways, DVRs and internet video boxes, to multiple IP set top boxes. A single IP902CL Access Point supports up to four client adaptors to support up to four concurrent HD streams.

According to Celeno, this system allows OEMs and service providers to support integrated Wi-Fi enabled set top boxes instead of client adaptors, while using the same SerComm CL1300-based video access point.

Ben Lin, founder and chief technology officer of SerComm, said: We strive to bring the most innovative and technologically advanced products to our customers and we are proud to include the Celeno-enabled HD home networking solution in our portfolio of offerings. We believe that service providers and OEMs will benefit from the high performance, flexibility and cost-effectiveness offered by IP902CL.
