The Spanish Technological and Industrial Development Centre, CDTI, has signed a research agreement with the College of Engineering’s Industrial Liaison Programme at Berkeley University in California. The agreement enables Spanish research and development companies to put forward strategic lines of technological development plus the infrastructure needed to develop the projects, to research teams at Berkeley. The companies will then have access to the interim results of the research, information that could lead to prototype high technology production processes. These can be developed and exploited in their industries. Under the agreement, the Industrial Liaison recognises the CDTI as a partner and intermediary in any joint high technology projects and it includes the possibility of incorporating Spanish scientists into research activities at Berkeley. Berkeley specialises in certain areas of development, including robotics, artificial intelligence, and superconductivity.
