Enterprise software and services provider CDC Software has agreed to acquire supply chain management and business activity monitoring applications provider WKD Solutions. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

WKD Solutions, which is based in the UK and is privately held, markets its products under the Categoric Software brand. CDC Software already includes Categoric supply chain event management in its Catalyst product line under an OEM agreement. After the acquisition, other Categoric applications including real-time alerting, process automation, corrective action tracking, and key performance indicator dashboards, are expected to be integrated into CDC’s supply chain portfolio.

Peter Yip, chief executive at CDC Software, said: We are excited to be pursuing this acquisition since we took a break to concentrate on integrating our prior acquisitions and rightsizing our platform. We believe now is the time to return to our focus-acquire-and-grow-strategy through mergers and acquisitions that help expand the breadth of our enterprise applications and fill the technology opportunities in our product roadmap.

Last year CDC acquired Australia-based software systems integrator Dynamic Business Consultants for an undisclosed sum. It also acquired the remaining 49% of its subsidiary Industri-Matematik International from Symphony Technology Group.
