1. Dell to sell off $10 billion in non-core assets

Dell is planning to sell $10 billion in non-core assets before buying EMC, to reduce the $49.5 billion debt burden it will assume once the acquisition is complete.

2. Hello HPE – new company comes into existence today

HP has completed its split into two separate companies, HP and HPE, one focusing on hardware and the other on enterprise services.

3. Bitcoin to become world’s 6th largest reserve currency

Crypotcurrency bitcoin is to become to become the world’s 6th largest global reserve currency by 2030, while the top 100 global financial institutions are set to invest $1bn into blockchain projects in the next 1 to 2 years alone.

4. UK and US to stress test the financial system under cyber security attack

Dubbed by some as a ‘war gaming’, the UK and US Governments are to test communications between each other and between governments and the financial sector in the event of a major cyber attack later this month.

5. CenturyLink could sell off entire data centre fleet

Searching for a new strategy around network, hosting and managed services, CenturyLink may sell off its entire fleet of data centre.
