Siemens Nixdorf Informationsysteme AG has now firmed up its plans for a personal computer manufacturing joint venture in China. It will hold an unspecified majority in Siemens Nixdorf PC Ltd with China’s Top Victory Electronics Ltd holding the balance. Siemens Nixdorf gave no financial details of the deal but said the new company would be located in the Fujan province and begin operations in October. It will produce around 50,000 machines in its first year, mainly for the local market. Top Victory does $167m a year and employs 2,000 people making computer display terminals.
