Categoric Software Corporation, the Palo Alto, US-based business management software specialist, sees a lucrative new market for its software after signing up IBM UK Ltd as a reseller. Categoric Alerts ’99 software, launched in March (CI No 3,613) monitors company databases and informs personnel across the company network of important events using email, electronic data interchange cellphone or fax. The software is aimed at the supply chain management market, but the company claims it is useful in knowledge management and customer relationship management in the retail, telecoms and finance sectors.
