CASE COMMUNICATIONS HAS CONTRACT WITH THAMES WATER

CASE Communications Ltd has beaten IBM to a UKP1.5m contract with Thames Water for an area-wide network based on CASE’s 8500 packet switching exchange, a core X25 network with additional 7320 data switches, CASE DCX multiplexers and embedded protocols: initially an IBM 3090 will be connected to the network when it is installed in the first quarter of 1988 enabling 27 Prime terminals to access both the IBM mainframe and a Prime 6350 minicomputer; an ICL 2988 Superdual may be connected at a later date.
