CA’S INFRESCO HAS NEW RELEASE OF OPAL INTEGRATION TOOL

By CBR Staff Writer

Computer Associates International Inc subsidiary Infresco Corp, has been keeping rather quiet since it was formed back in November of last year (CI No 3,034) and the launch of its first product, Opel, a month later (CI No 3,054). Now Infresco has a new release, of Opal, its character-to-graphical applications integration tool ready to ship by the end of this year. Version 2.1 of Opal includes Opal Integrator, the design and integration environment for Windows 95 and NT; Opal Server, handling communication with mainframe and AS/400 hosts and running on NT; and Opal Player, a run-time client which runs under all versions of Windows as standalone executables, and within NetScape Navigator and Internet Explorer browsers.
