Carrier1 France was established in October 1998, six months after the start of Carrier1. The French office employs a staff of 15, nearly all of whom are based in Paris. The carrier (prefix 1691) has already built significant architecture in France, including 6 POPs (Paris, Lyon, Marseilles, Strasbourg, Toulouse and Lille). Eight others are planned. A Paris-based metropolitan ring enables Carrier1 to get closer to the highest points of concentration of its important customers. Four hosting centres are located on the French territory.
