DEC, Texas Instruments Inc, Carnegie Group Inc, US West Inc and Ford Motor Co came together yesterday to announce formation of a $10m Initiative for Managing Knowledge Assets. The objective is to develop a next generation software technology that will enable the members to capture coporate knowledge and manage it as an asset, thus enabling them to retain their competitive advantages into the next century. The contract calls for the five to share and contribute technology, staff and funds toward the joint development of a next-generation knowledge asset-management technology for use internally and in products.
