CAPPS EXPRESSES BITTERNESS WITH APPLE LEADERSHIP

By CBR Staff Writer

Steve Capps, one of the most highly regarded software engineers at Apple Computer Inc until he jumped ship for Microsoft Corp, sounds bitter about those that got Apple into its present mess. Of NeXT, he told the San Jose Mercury News, I think it’s a bigger mess than they can imagine NeXTstep is a nice re- implementation of a 1984 technology also known as the Mac. Is it going to solve all their problems? No, it’s going to bring a different set of problems, he declared, adding They brought Woz back three or four times and he never did anything except play video games; now Steve is the fossil trotted out… is it like a traffic accident, where you have to slow down to watch or is it really interesting?
