Capita Group Plc, the London-based outsourcing and business services group, is beefing up its presence in the education market with the 3m pound acquisition of EMIS Ltd, which supplies management and administration software for the higher and adult education markets. Capita’s education services arm, which already employs 500 staff, takes over an EMIS product range which is currently in use at 128 colleges and 24 universities in the UK.
