Capgemini has reported consolidated revenues of €1.95 billion for the third quarter of 2009, a decrease of 7.3% compared to €2.09 billion for the same period last year. On a like-for-like basis (constant group structure and exchange rates), revenues were down 9%.
For the quarter, outsourcing services revenues decreased by 2.7% on a like-for-like basis, due to fall in business under a major contract in North America. Technology services and consulting Services saw revenues slip by 2.6% and 13.4%, respectively. Local professional services revenues declined by 13.9%, on a like-for-like basis versus third-quarter 2008.
On a geographical basis, revenues for North America were €388m, a decrease of 3.6% compared to €402m. UK and Ireland revenues decreased by 6.7% to €450m from €482m, while revenues from rest of Europe, Asia and Latin America declined 13.7% to €352m.
Bookings for the quarter were €1.9 billion. Outsourcing services bookings increased by 7% compared with third-quarter 2008.
The company anticipates fourth quarter 2009 revenues to experience a similar decline to that of third quarter. It maintains its operating margin guidance of around 7% for full year 2009.
