Capgemini Sud SAS (Capgemini), a subsidiary of the Capgemini Group, together with IT services provider Logica and Bull have together secured a six-year contract with the CNRS, the French National Center for Scientific Research.

Under this contract, Capgemini will lead the overall contract, while Logica will act as a joint consortium member. The consortium will handle third-party applications management and outsourced IT systems for finance and accounting activities and the human resources and salary management system for the center.

CNRS has modernised its IT tools, equipping itself with a new accounting and budgeting system (BFC), along with a new HR and salary management system (Sirhus). The center launched a call for tender at the beginning of 2009 for third-party applications management and outsourcing, for these two SAP-based systems.

According to Capgemini, the new contract will see the consortium building the technical architecture and taking care of progressive and corrective maintenance and outsourcing, for the two IT systems: Sirhus for HR administration and salary management for CNRS employees, and BFC for budget execution monitoring, spending, projects, revenue, financial monitoring of research contracts and both general and analytical budget accounting.

Capgemini led the implementation of BFC, Logica led the Sihrus implementation and Bull was charged with the outsourcing of the SAP and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) systems, an integration infrastructure that allows different IT system applications to communicate, under the contract.
