Capgemini acquires Italy-based IT services firm AIVE

Expected to strengthen Capgemini's SaaS positioning in Italy

By CBR Staff Writer

Capgemini, a provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, has acquired AIVE Group, an Italy-based IT service provider, in an all cash deal of EUR 42.9m.

Capgemini said this acquisition is expected to strengthen its application portfolio as well as its SaaS (Software as a Service) positioning and its market share in IT services in Italy.

This deal follows six other acquisitions, which include Prosodie, Avantias and Artesys in France, BI Consulting Group in North America and CS Consulting in Germany, and highlights the Group commitment to continue expanding in its traditional markets.

AIVE Group’s products and services portfolio perfectly ties into Capgemini’s offering, allowing clients to benefit from a seamless portfolio of services ranging from consulting to systems integration, application deployment and application management services.

Customers will now be able to leverage AIVE vertical competencies together with Capgemini’s industrialized approach for tested and reliable end-to-end offerings for specific market segments.

Capgemini said it will strengthen its presence in all the major industrialised areas in Italy by leveraging AIVE’s geographical reach in the country, and will also drive success in the Software as a Service emerging market space.

CEO Application Services (Continental Europe) and member of Capgemini Executive Committee Olivier Sevillia said this acquisition will strengthen their market position centered on project-based, customised solutions with a set of pre-configured solutions.

AIVE Group CEO Franco Mazza said joining Capgemini will enable them to benefit from the experience of a truly international Group with a solid delivery network, and to offer promising perspectives to our employees.

"We will combine our strengths to serve Italian clients with a wider portfolio of world-class services and respond to much bigger and more complex challenges they face," Mazza added.
