Cap Gemini Sogeti SA has broken off talks with Ing C Olivetti & Co SpA about combining software interests, but says it still wants another major shareholder to stand beside Daimler-Benz AG, and hints that France Telecom might fit the bill: the French government is thought to be aghast at the implications of the Daimler-Benz agreement, which gives the German company the option of taking full control in 1995.
