Cap Gemini Sogeti SA has decided that it is now so big that its very decentralised generalist approach in each of its geographic markets is no longer appropriate, and it plans instead to reorganise into seven regional companies, each of which will have a specialisation that it will market worldwide, each with about 3,500 employees: the company says that the seven regions will be the Paris region, where the parent is based; the UK; the US; Scandinavia; Germany; Italy; Spain; Switzerland; Austria and the French provinces; the areas in which each will specialise have not yet been assigned, although it is likely that the core of the UK region will be Hoskyns Group Plc and that it will get world responsibility for facilities management activities Hoskyns executive chairman Geoff Unwin has been put in charge of implementing the regional strategy; each of the regional units will also offer a full range of services locally, but will call on the skills of the appropriate region where it does not have them itself.
