CAP GEMINI SOGETI INCREASES STAKE IN SESA TO 93%

By CBR Staff Writer

Underlining the fragmented nature of the UK computer services industry – three lusty listed players in CAP, Logica and Systems Designers, but is any big enough to play its full part on the international stage? – France’s biggest independent services company, CAP Gemini Sogeti has just expanded its annual turnover to about $750m by buying the 51% held in Sesa SA by Compagnie Generale d’Electricit. CAP Gemini already held 43% of Sesa, and now has 93%, the balance being held by principals of the company. The $160m-a-year Sesa, strong in networking, data communications and systems implementation – it used to be called France’s Logica – has 1,500 staff, taking CGS to 10,000.
