Digital Asset Management (DAM) software provider Canto has revamped its Cumulus digital management software with the addition of more than 50 new features.

Cumulus version 8.6 is a cross-platform digital asset management application that enables companies to organise, find, share and track their increasing numbers of digital files, in any format.

Canto product manager Carsten Hesse said, "With Cumulus version 8.6, the web publishing and portal solution Cumulus Sites can be administered in the newly designed user interface (UI), eliminating the need to edit an Extensible Markup Language (XML) file for configuration on the server."

The new File System Companion allows administrators to set up event-driven asset locations that "watch" what the user is doing and handle management tasks in the background, allowing automatic version control that stores the entire version history of a document or image.

Canto chief technology officer and co-founder Thomas Schleu said, "With Cumulus 8.6 users can now visualize the location of an asset based on GoogleMaps geodata stored in the file via Sites."

The 50+ enhancements and additions to the new release include multilingual support, collaboration and the new UI, among others.
