The iW360 package, which works only on the Japanese company’s own hardware, allows you to scan in a hard copy, send it to a repository, edit it and tag it for future handling, collate it with other files in different formats, then drag and drop file types into a template to create a booklet, for instance, said Tracey Fielden, head of office marketing for Canon in the UK.
The suite actually consists of five elements, one of which is new and four existed previously as separate products. There is iW Publishing Manager (iWPM), iW Document Manager (iWDM), PDF Compact and PDF Search, plus the new iW Function Flow.
The overall suite will be available in five-user and 10-user packages, with a five-user version shipping with five iWPM and iWDM licenses plus single licenses of the other three programs, the idea being that they are for single users within a workgroup to centralize those functions.
Canon UK said the five-user version would bear a list price in that market of 1,299 pounds ($2,600) while the 10-user version would list at 2,469 pounds ($4,940). Readers in other geographies should refer to their local Canon reps for pricing in their countries.
