Canon Inc plans to increase output of printers at its Canon Bretagne SA and its Canon Virginia Inc units: in France, it aims to raise output to 20,000 a month by 1992 from the present 2,000 to 3,000 a month; it already does 20,000 a month in Virginia and has not said how much that will increase; it will do 21% of its output outside Japan this year, up from 17% in 1988, and aims for 30% in a year or two; the Japanese market takes only 10% of Sharp’s laser printers, the US 70% and Europe, 20%.
