Candle Corp of Los Angeles has acquired a family of host network access software products, along with their underlying technology, from Netserv of Chicago. The products, which provide advanced facilities for network secu-rity, control, and end user productivity for IBM 3270 users, include CL/Supersession, CL/Gateway for MVS, and CL/Gateway for IMS.CL/Supersession provides facilities for maintaining multiple concurrent sessions between individual 3270-compatible terminals and multiple VTAM-based application subsystems. It allows users to maintain connection with MVS, MVS/XA, DOS/VSE, VM, and host environments. CL/Gateway for MVS provides network control and security facilities and enhanced access services, as well as virtual terminal pooling. CL/Gateway for IMS offers network ac-cess and control for IMS/DC systems. According to Candle, IMS security and data integrity problems that normally occur in dial-up, multi-sessions, X25 and other terminal-sharing environments are eliminated throughCL/Gateway’s IMS integrity services. All three products, which are available immediately, are claimed to be seamlessly integrated at the functional and architectural levels, and they can operate in a single address space. Each can be purchased alone for $20,000 or as a package for $35,000.
