Canadian Pacific Ltd, Montreal is to sell a 40% stake in its CNCP Telecommunications Co to Rogers Communications Inc of Toronto for between $210m and $275m: the move is likely to lead to Rogers seeking a licence to set up a rival long-distance business to the current monopoly held by Telecom Canada.
