Under the terms of the agreement Lucent will develop high-accuracy, location-determination platforms by integrating CPS’s Cursor technology into its network infrastructure products, expanding its current location-based services portfolio.
Lucent has already demonstrated its leadership in the field of intelligent networks, value-added services and billing systems, noted Rene van der Hulst, GSM product management vice president, to the press. This agreement with CPS will allow us to leverage the benefits of CPS’ high-accuracy mobile-positioning information and offer true ‘end-to-end’ location-based services for the GSM standard, including General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) and EDGE, the Enhanced Data for Global Evolution technology.
