Cambridge-based Cambridge Instruments Company Plc says it has a conditional agreement to acquire the Optical Systems Division of Bausch and Lomb Inc of Rochester, New York, for a cash settlement of $37m: the division has annual revenues of around $45.3m and is in the manufacture of optical microscopes, photgrammetry products, diagnostic ophthalmic instruments as well as other optical products.
