Caldera Thin Clients Inc has announced that DR-WebSpyder 2.1, its 32-bit web browser for the embedded market, now supports Javascript, secure sockets layer (SSL), cookies, sound files and printing. Caldera has also added scrollable quarter-screen VGA support for low-resolution LCD displays, as well as anti-aliasing for TV. The product is designed for set-top boxes, kiosks, handheld data entry devices, smart phones, network computers, point-of-sale systems and so forth. Caldera Thin Clients also detailed a new partnership with reseller General Software Inc. The companies intend to combine Caldera’s DR-DOS with General Software Embedded BIOS, co- operating in engineering, marketing, sales, training and tech support.
