Computer Associates International Inc will today outline plans to enable companies to use their IBM OS/390 mainframes in secure electronic commerce environments. Although CAI was remaining tightlipped about the announcement, it is likely to involve CAI’s eTrust e-commerce platform which the company announced in July. The portfolio of tools includes trust certificates, encryption controls, firewall facilities, public key infrastructure certificate management, anti-virus protection and single sign-on. CAI’s chairman and CEO Charles Wang will make the announcement today during a press conference in New York. CAI’s current security offerings for the OS/390 include its CA-Top Secret and CS-ACF2.
