CAI IS SHIPPING MULTI-USER DBFAST

By CBR Staff Writer

Computer Associates International Inc, Garden City, New York is shipping dBFast, a multi-user version of the stand-alone dBase/Xbase-compatible development language and database for Windows: data files in dBFast are compatible with dBase III Plus, and users can run dBase III Plus and dBFast simultaneously with shared data, enabling a gradual migration to Windows; typical dBase/Xbase applications can be moved into dBFast virtually unchanged, and extensions to exploit the graphical features of the Windows environment can be made within the established convention of the language; dBFast provides application integration through support for Dynamic Data Exchange and Dynamic Link Libraries; a single user version costs $550.
