CAE Inc, Toronto is suffering from fall-out from the peace dividend and says that its CAE-Link Corp aircraft simulator-building unit will close its Silver Spring, Maryland facility because of changing conditions in the US defence market, and will transfer the product lines made their to its Binghamton base. All but 25 of the 215 Silver Spring employees will lose their jobs. Silver Spring operations will be phased out before year-end and CAE took a charge to cover the closure with third quarter figures.
