The new mobile product, by EMS software firm HealthWare Solutions, aims to bring critical EMS data from the field in real-time directly into BIO-key’s FireRMS records system, aiming to eliminate the manual process of entering patient care reports and improving accuracy.
Once fully deployed, it is expected to enable emergency medical personnel responding to incidents to capture patient information on a ruggedized pen tablet while in the field. The information is then automatically transferred to their records.
Our first responders spent countless hours with the old paper system writing out reports and then coming into the station to re-enter the data into the computer, said Arthur Meacham, systems administrator for Caddo Parish 911 Communications. He added that the system also eliminates transcription errors and improves the overall quality of the data collected.
