Cabletron Systems Inc executives arrived at the conference confirming reports that the company will be launcing new Ethernet and Fast Ethernet switching products today. They declined to provide details but said reports talking of the new product having room for up to 120 Ethernet switchboards and being priced at less than $330 per port were substantially accurate. They said it addresses a product area demanded by customers. Michael Skubisz, director of product marketing said that while many of Cabletron’s network products have been targeted at the high end, it expects to see a stratification in the market and more products aimed at mid-range and low-end users.
