Cabletron Systems Inc, Rochester, New Hampshire is to acquire privately-held ZeitNet Inc, for 1.924 million of Cabletron shares, valued at $140 million. Zeitnet offers low- cost systems for connecting applications, servers and workgroups to high- performance Asynchronous Transfer Mode networks.
