Rochester, New Hampshire-based Cabletron Systems Inc has introduced the Ethernet MicroLAN Extension module, 9E132-15, for its MMAC-Plus. Through the module, the MMAC-Plus can be configured to provide up to 42 Ethernet segments in a fully loaded chassis, says the company. Each of the three separately repeated Ethernet segments on the MicroLAN Extension module supports four RJ-45 connections and one Ethernet Port Interface Module. The module initially supports Cabletron’s bridging and routing, including support for Internet Protocol with Routing Information Protocol, Internet Packet Exchange with Service Access Point and DECnet with Level 1 and Level 2.
