Rochester, New Hampshire-based Cabletron Systems Inc has confirmed the report in ComputerWorld that that it has been approached by investment bankers twice in the last eight months with a suggestion that it might like to buy Ungermann-Bass Inc but Tandem Computers Inc categorically denies any connection with these initiatives.
