CABLES: NO PROGRESS IN JAPANESE TELECOM TALKS

The first meeting between the Cable & Wireless-C Itoh IDC consortium and the rival International Telecom Japan was held yesterday, but Cable & Wireless reports no progress on the salient issues. It regards speculation that Japan may licence both consortia as wide of the mark.
