CABLE & WIRELESS TALKS WITH DEUTSCHE TELEKOM “ROUTINE”

Cable and Wireless Plc urged investors to watch and wait yesterday after Deutsche Telekom AG said the two firms were in talks, while adding that this did not point to any imminent deal. We’re talking to people all the time, a spokeswoman told Reuters. Telekom chairman Ron Sommers has been quoted as saying he is excited to see [new chief executive] Dick Brown taking major steps to become a serious contender to British Telecommunications.
