Cable & Wireless Plc has sold its offshore construction industry subsidiary Northern Ocean Services Ltd to McDermott International Inc, but did not disclose how much was paid: Cables said it sold the business as a non-core operation and that it did not affect its Cable & Wireless Marine submarine telecommunications cable-laying business.
